Thinking Inside (the Window Casings)

Traditionally, valances are mounted outside of the window case; however, traditions aren’t always the conventionality. During this home office project, letting her creativity take over, the designer chose to mount the valances inside the wooden frames. As a result, the valance is longer than usual and it is a better proportional fit to the high ceilings. In addition, the long valances give viewers a brand new perspective of the room as the gorgeous woodwork and beautiful frames are displayed in a rustic but yet elegant fashion. As it is displayed in the picture above, thinking outside of the box or rather inside of the window casings can pay big dividends for any home decorations.
