How much fabric do you throw away every year? Studies show that Americans throw out nearly 11 million tons of fabric every year. Synthetic fabric, often made from a compound identical to plastic bottles, takes decades to decompose. If 99% of textiles can be recycled, don’t throw it out! Here at Drapery Designs, we pledge to do our part for the environment. From now on we will recycle all of our cardboard bolts, boxes, fabric waste and everything else we can to save the planet! We collect an average of 20-30 pounds of fabric waste every week; that’s 20-30 pounds of fabric every week that won’t sit in a landfill for a lifetime. Not only will we recycle everything we can, we will use all natural materials in our workroom to line our work, unless a fire retardant lining is requested. We hope you will join us in our efforts to save the planet!
