Curtain Alterations: Here is What You Need to Know

Drapery Designs is one of the few custom drapery workrooms that provides alteration services. Whenever clients come to us, we always inspect the curtains to determine the scope of the job. The workroom discusses what it is the person wants to be done with the panels for full transparency. Window treatments like shades, cornices, and valances cannot be altered since they are board mounted items.

There are a few reasons as to why they choose to alter their drapes. Sometimes, there could be a manufacturing error like uneven hem. We, at Drapery Designs, are able to fix it!

Other times, our clients get ready-made drapery panels, but want them to be customized. For example altered length, pleat style, or addition of grommets for curtain rods.

Often people also want to repurpose the fabric of their old draperies. Our workroom had many projects like that in the past: side panels made from one big panel, pillows, and even valance.
