For this project, we were tasked with creating lumbar pillows for a public building, where functionality and order are just as important as comfort. These pillows add a cozy touch and help maintain a neat, organized appearance in the space. To achieve this, we secured the pillows to the wooden benches using marine snaps.
This method ensures that the pillows stay firmly in place, even in high-traffic areas, preventing any shifting or misalignment. The marine snaps are discreet, yet strong, providing both durability and ease of use. This thoughtful design makes the space more practical without sacrificing style or comfort.
We also designed outdoor pillows for a rooftop seating area. Given the exposure to the elements and powerful winds, we had to ensure that the pillows remained securely in place. We used sandbags to weigh them down, preventing them from being blown away.
These outdoor pillows now add both comfort and visual appeal, while the hidden sandbag weights keep the space looking tidy and secure, even in unpredictable weather. It’s a perfect example of how functional design can elevate an outdoor environment without sacrificing aesthetics.
